A mission focused on the people of education

With budgets that are constantly strained, public education faces a number of limitations. The last thing that should be limited, however, is a teacher’s drive to make a difference or a student’s desire to learn. The Enrichment Fund for the Guilford County Schools fills the gap. We want teachers to not just think creatively, but be able to act on their ideas, fostering enrichment experiences that take learning to a whole new level. We also believe that a student’s financial circumstances should not keep him or her from taking part in field trips, special projects and other transformative opportunities. We’re inspired by the people and possibilities within our school system and what our students and teachers can achieve with our help.  Join us.

Our Mission

The mission of The Enrichment Fund for the Guilford County Schools is to provide financial support to enhance the educational programs of Guilford County Schools, aid students needing financial assistance with enrichment opportunities, and encourage and reward creativity, innovation and outstanding teaching.

Our History

In 1993, the Greensboro Public School Fund, the Greensboro Excellence Fund, the Guilford County Student Enrichment Fund and the High Point Education Foundation merged their assets to form The Enrichment Fund for the Guilford County Schools, managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. Combining efforts and resources allows us to elevate our commitment to providing enrichment and encouragement to students and teachers through the wise investment of funds. Each year the proceeds from these investments are combined with new donations from the community to enrich the educational experiences of students and teachers in Guilford County. With about $1m in endowed funds, we’re able to award, on average, $100k a year in hundreds of gifts that touch hundreds of lives.

Our Leadership

The Enrichment Fund for the Guilford County Schools is a private 501 (c) (3), not-for-profit organization administered by a volunteer board of directors. There is no paid staff — all funds directly benefit the students and teachers of our community through scholarships, grants and awards. We’re committed to public education and passionate about Guilford County Schools. Our goal is to support every school in the county, creating a meaningful impact for as many students and teachers as possible.
